Privacy policy
Effective 16 October 2026
The short version: The SIRA app doesn't collect your data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you record in SIRA stays on your iPhone, and SIRA does not send it anywhere. If you ask for a beta invite on this website, we keep the name and email you give us so we can send it.
Who we are
SIRA is a daily practice app for Muslims, built around the five prayers. It is developed and published by Rahmat Abdull Latif, who is responsible for this policy. You can reach us at support@getsira.io.
What SIRA stores on your phone
To work, SIRA keeps the following on your iPhone, in the app's own storage:
- Your first name, if you give one, and your answers to the setup questions.
- What you mark each day: prayers, Qurʾan reading, practices, and any note you write at the end of the day.
- Your plan for the week, your place in your Qurʾan reading, and verses you choose to keep.
- Pauses you set, including their reason (for example illness, travel, your period or after a birth).
- Your approximate location, as a latitude and longitude, so prayer times can be worked out.
- Your settings, such as notification switches and reading modes.
None of this leaves your phone. We cannot see it, and nobody else receives it from SIRA.
Location
SIRA asks for your approximate location, only while you are using the app, to calculate prayer times and the direction of the qibla. The calculation happens on your phone. Your location is stored on your phone only, and is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can change or withdraw location access at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
The qibla compass reads your phone's heading while the screen is open. It is not stored.
Notifications
SIRA's reminders are scheduled on your phone. There is no notification server, and no device identifier is sent anywhere. You can turn reminders off in SIRA or in your iPhone's Settings.
Information about your health
The reasons you give for a pause can concern your health. They are used only to adjust what SIRA asks of you during the pause, and like everything else they stay on your phone.
Links that leave the app
A few links in SIRA open other places when you tap them, such as the source of the Qurʾan text in your browser, or your iPhone's Settings. What happens on those sites is governed by their own privacy policies.
The beta on TestFlight
While SIRA is in beta, it is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. Apple handles your invitation and the app's installation, and Apple's privacy policy applies to that. If you choose to send feedback or screenshots through TestFlight, or if the app crashes and your iPhone is set to share crash data, Apple passes that information to us. We use it only to improve SIRA, and we do not share it with anyone else.
If you email us, the message is forwarded by Cloudflare to our inbox at Google, and we keep it so we can reply.
This website and beta sign-ups
When you ask for a beta invite at getsira.io, we store the name and email you enter, anything you write in the optional box, the date you signed up, and your country. Your country is worked out by our hosting provider from your connection; we do not store your IP address.
This is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this website. We use it only to send your TestFlight invite and news about SIRA's launch. To send the invite, we enter your name and email in Apple's App Store Connect, and Apple sends it to you. We do not share it with anyone else or sell it.
To have your sign-up deleted, email support@getsira.io.
The website has no analytics and sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare handles your connection to serve the pages and protect the site. The pages use fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address under Google's own privacy policy.
Deleting your data
You can erase everything SIRA has stored at any time: open You, then Settings, then delete all your data. Deleting the app also removes it. If you back up your iPhone, the backup may include SIRA's data, kept under your own Apple account.
Children
SIRA is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If SIRA ever starts to collect or send any information, we will update this policy before that happens and say so in the app. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
